Sure, let’s take a verse completely out of context and claim that the Bible contradicts itself. Anyone could read a book and find enough sentences to make up any meaning they wish. Some statements can be taken alone, but many must be read in the context in which they appear for one to arrive at a true understanding.

The Bible does teach about homosexuality being immoral, along with being dishonest, lacking compassion for others, killing each other, and so on. The problem is not in the Bible, it is in one’s understanding which results in a newbie Christian spouting out self-righteousness with the only handful of verses they have ever read.

Humanity is born into a sinful nature of ignorance, jealousy, hate, greed, covetousness, etc. Most of us will lie, cheat, steal, kill, or destroy something at some point in our lives. God knew this. It’s called forgiveness and mercy.

Liars cannot be taught of there error if they are condemned for it. Neither can homosexuals be shown what God has established as truth if the church continues to hate on them. Jesus warned humanity against this when he said, “The greatest commandment of all is that you love your brother as yourself.” If one cannot show love for another because of prejudicial indifference, the true meaning of the scriptures have lost their meaning entirely.

Those that claim to be Christians that are going around telling everyone they are going to hell are totally in the wrong. The very Bible they reference speaks of that. “Judge not lest ye be judged.” “You will be judged by the measure that you judge others.” No human being is in any position to judge anything as good or bad. We cannot know why all things exist, so there will inevitably be some misunderstanding, if one seeks to understand everything. Faith is essential in being the moral person that the Bible suggests because we are limited in our capability to understand creation. It is possible to live a life according to God’s commandments, but it took 30 years before Jesus even began his ministry. If anyone has sat around and studied the Word long enough to truly grasp an understanding, they would not spout out the very ignorance the Bible was written to warn us about. It just so happens that so many people have ego problems that will not allow them to be at fault.. So everyone wants to preach their own gospels or denounce God because of some personal belief that does not align with the scriptures.

God said it himself.. “I will destroy my people because they are ignorant. You have refused to learn, so I will refuse to let you be my priests. You have forgotten the teachings of your God, so I will forget your children.” Hosea 4:6

God does not support the bigotry that man has raised up in His place.

Blame man for this error, not God.

the problem with these bigoted comments is that these people read the bible from a modern day context which entirely changes things. It must be read in the context of the day. For example ; there is an alleged lost gospel of Mary. I am not supporting this Gospel or not just relaying a section to get to a point. It says
" woman must become as man to enter the kingdom of God". One modern translation is that it says that women should get sex changes. If we read it in the modern context it seems to say this. However when we look at it in context we realise Men were the primarily educated people. It was near unheard of for women to be educated except for the very wealthy. So in this context it can be taken to mean women should become educated in the holy ways to serve God. two different meanings dependent of context. language evolves. You need to analyse in context.

  3. … of course, this entirely presumes there even is a god …

to which the only responses are generally comprised of circular logic …

You may want to go back and review the basic theological arguments for the existence of god. None are infallible. However, if you believe that "the only responses are generally comprised of circular logic," then you have failed to understand the arguments.
