2011 Writing Contest.
~ Donna Baier Stein
If you write about Buddhism—or meditation, yoga, or anything of interest in today’s world—send your essays, stories, and poems into the 2011 Writing Contest offered by TIFERET: A Journal of Spiritual Literature.
You’ll find submission guidelines at here.
TIFERET publishes poetry and prose from a variety of spiritual paths, traditional and non-traditional. Browse our website for posts from leading edge thinkers like Jean Houston, Dr. Jacob Needleman, Fred LaMotte, Julia Cameron, and many others.
We offer popular free BlogTalk Radio interviews with the likes of Ed Hirsch (poet and head of the Guggenheim Foundation); Arielle Ford; Robin Rice; Jude Rittenhouse; Dr. Bernie Siegel; New World Library publisher, author and musician Marc Allen; and more. Virtual author teas online with well-known and fledging authors.
I hope you’ll enter our contest, and that you’ll join our growing community as well.
Our mission is to promote peace in the individual and the world at the nexus of spirituality and literature. We find spirit in the writings of Kerouac, Vonnegut, Rumi, Hirschfeld, Tagore, so many others. We learn how to write from a deep, sacred place inside us. And we continue the ever-more-important task of connection through heart and through word.
Donna Baier Stein’s poetry and prose have appeared in Virginia Quarterly Review, Kansas Quarterly, Prairie Schooner, Washingtonian, and many other journals and anthologies. Her story collection Great Drawing Board of the Sky was a Finalist in the Iowa Fiction Awards; her novel Fortune received the PEN/New England Discovery Award and is now represented by William Morris Endeavor. Donna was a founding editor of Bellevue Literary Review, and currently is the Editor and Publisher of Tiferet: A Journal of Spiritual Literature.
