Toronto, Sunday: Waylon’s debut reading of Eco Boy vs. Yoga Girl at Toronto Yoga Conference.

Confession: I’m nervous.

Like, really nervous.

In just three short days, someone I’ve never met will be coming to stay at my house, and we’ll be adventuring together at the Toronto Yoga Conference.

Who is this mysterious someone, you may ask?

Waylon Lewis, of course.

(A little secret: the elephant team is based all over this beautiful world. Different time zones, continents and countries, we work together, mostly virtually, to bring the best of elephant to your finger tips.)

So, we’ve never met, because Waylon is based in Boulder, and well, I’m in Toronto.

(This should be fun.)

I’ve been racking my brain on how to prepare our home for the landing of the founder and head of elephant journal, social media documentarian extraodonaire—and I think I’ve come up with a few.

1. Borrow a bike made for a tall man. Make sure to include a giant bike lock and lights. (Advise him ahead of time that it’s still pretty f*cking cold in Toronto, and that your bike doesn’t hit the road until flip flop season, so he’ll be biking sans company.)

2. Give your apartment a good cleaning; get into every nook and cranny…and wash the cushion covers that are covered in pet hair. Put away anything you wouldn’t want the world to see. (This man instagrams like there is no tomorrow; you’ve already discussed with your partner your excitement-slash-anxiety over seeing your home, pets and possibly, well, your life, plastered all over social media.)

3. Prepare his room, mindfully. (Knowing that he has a dedicated meditation practice, create a little space and room for sitting…and a plug for his computer.)

4. Sigh with relief that everything in your cupboards and refrigerator doesn’t have to be tossed out and replaced with its organic, cruelty-free, locally-made replacement. (You are already dedicated to the movement—you know, the one where you put only good things made with good intentions that are good for the earth with words that you can pronounce into your body) and stock up on good f*cking coffee. While you’re at it, might as well make sure you have some good whiskey, too.

We’ll be all over the city (well, mostly in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre), from Thursday March 21st until Sunday March 24th, getting our yoga on.

Oh, and the best part? Waylon will be talking at the conference, so if you’re interested in meeting him in person (or just checking to see that your weird dream the other night was right…yes, he really is that tall), then join us at the Toronto Yoga Conference.

Here is the 411:

> Friday March 22nd, 6pm-7pm in the Yoga Garden Area: Waylon will be sharing his tips for meditation—the how and why we should do it every day.

> Saturday March 23rd, 5:30pm-6:30pm in the Yoga Garden Area: Waylon will be talking with some of our favorite people teaching at the Yoga Conference: Seane Corn, Cyndi Lee, Leslie Kaminoff, Sadie Nardini, and Bo Forbes.

> Sunday March 24th, 11:30am-12:30pm in the Cultural Arts Area: He’ll be reading from his upcoming book, Eco Boy vs. Yoga Girl.

Bonus: An old Walk the Talk Show with Waylon Lewis promo to give you a taste of Sunday’s event:
