Mural Installations by Chase. Brooklyn, Venice, everywhere.

A couple years back, I was strolling the streets of my former neighborhood in Venice, CA and I came upon a remarkable mural on the street.

It stopped me in my tracks. It was blatantly staring at me. All eyes, literally, on me. And it said, “Rusty, Remember Who You Are… Listen To Your Soul”.

And I liked it.

Because to me, the artist was encouraging people to stop for a second and think deeper. To think less about superficial things, and more about the deeper existence… more about what our lives mean and tapping into who we were made to be.

So, I snapped the above picture and the image never really left my mind. Fast forward to early 2009 and I’m in Honolulu… what do I see on the street? A mural by the same artist. Then again, last week in Brooklyn, NY… this time one of the messages being “Believing = Seeing”… which resonate with the words of Jesus, “All things are possible to those who believe”… which is inspiring to me.

So, after 3 instances of seeing these amazing murals, I found that the artist behind these murals is a man named Chase. No last name. You can check out his website here. And apparently Chase gets around… Cali, Brooklyn, Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo… he’s been all over the place leaving his mark inciting people to look a little deeper.

So, keep an eye out for The Art of Chase… it will definitely be keeping an eye out for you.
