Tweet of the Day.
“The wealthiest 400 people in America now own more wealth than the bottom 150 million Americans.”
Once, the American Dream was the sort of middle class, union-protected, family-centered community-rich life we saw on, say, Leave it to Beaver. Now, we’ve been sold a Running Man version of the American Dream: reality-show riches and 15-minute fame. The only difference? In the first case, nearly all of us could and did achieve it, building the strongest middle class in human history, and the strongest country in the world. Now, few of us achieve fame or wealth, while the vast majority of us are lucky to even see the minimum wage raise in our lifetime.
Let’s reverse all this. We can do it. The first step: conscious consumerism. Care about what companies (local vs. corporate) you and I support.
