I believe in truth.
But do I believe in yours, and mine? Do I believe there are absolutes in this world where all is relative and how we know is defined by relationship.
As one great teacher said, you cannot compare chicken to fish if you don’t have the experience of meat.
Is it not odd that God is the Ultimate other though I’d say that God is now, and here every second.
Don’t think. Feel. I tell this to my students often.
Is truth like a fact? Is truth a definition? Is truth an experience? Is truth something I can know much less share?
Honestly, I don’t know.
But this is what I do know.
I know my heart tells the truth where my mind lies with thoughts.
I know my biology is my biography, as Carolyn Myss said so well.
I know in stillness, in quiet, I sense being and its mystery. I know what I sense as me cannot hold the all of me.
I know consciousness grows with awareness. I know love deepens with presence.
I believe we are all guided, every second.
I don’t believe in chance.
I now believe in attractions that don’t ask me to judge them as good or bad, or right or wrong. If something happens within my range of perception I have attracted it. My job is to observe what happens within so I can be with what is.
This is my truth. This is what I am learning.
I believe if I can learn to breathe in each moment I will heal myself, inside out and outside in. I believe then I will have a core, and the light that is mine will flourish and shine.
My teacher called this the Heart Song of the Structure of Truth. This is my read of her teaching.
This is my truth.
I am a full time yoga teacher, trained at City Fitness in Washington, DC and Willow Street Yoga Center in Silver Spring, Maryland. I have been writing poetry since I was nine years old. Poetry is my first love and yoga continues to feed my heart. I write because I love it. I teach because I love it. I tell my students all the time: do it because you can. That works for me. I believe in creating opportunity. I believe in helping my self and others. I think faith is the most important gift of life, because when we lose everything else we still have that in our heart. I believe the natural state of being is happiness, or bliss, or Ananda. Life is a celebration. Poetry and yoga help me celebrate. Check out my website and blog here.
