“Live your life from your heart. Share from your heart. And your story will touch and heal people’s souls. ~ Melody Beattie

Sometimes, it is, that we may struggle to find ‘just the right words’ to share and show just how very much we care.

In our minds, perhaps we are thinking just a wee bit too much—in an effort to speak our  most perfect thoughts into being.

And then, there are these moments—where we are stripped to our emotional core…that’s when our heart will step up and speak for us. When that happens, the words flow so very easily—from spirit, to heart, to soul.

The heart will speak when the mind, can not.

This is the story of Danny Perasa and his wife of 27 years, Annie—as they share the most wonderfully inspiring love story ever. This video resonated with me in ways I could never have imagined (I mean, it is a cartoon, for goodness sake). But sometimes, it’s the very best stories that catch us completely off our guard.

As you watch this, I would love to hear what true love means to you.

  1. Wow…that sure does bring on the tears.

True love to me is a self-acceptance of all the quirks and imperfections of my personality…which frees me to extend that same acceptance to my beloved. From there, love is not about making each other happy, or grand gestures (though both can happen) but rather, love is a shared state of gratitude for each other.

    Great post!

    Thank you ~

And for me, true love is when we can both just 'be'… and somehow, in our 'being', a beautiful energy is born… that wants for nothing in return, and that has no expectations… there's an amazing brilliance to that sort of energy. I think that to me, is love.

“What makes the desert beautiful,' said the little prince, 'is that somewhere it hides a well…”

Maybe, true love is our 'well'?

Thank you. I actually got into an argument with my man this morning. I spent most of my day feeling angry and sad—this really puts things in perspective. xoxo

    That's so beautiful!!!

Love to me is being a blessing for others, all the time. On top of that it is respect, communication & undestanding.

Danny & Annie are and always will be, Masters on all those.

All my LOVE to them both. And to you, Tare, for sharing this proof of beauty with us 🙂 xxxx

  9. Tara Lemieux says:

My husband of 26 years has ALS. I serve him ice cream every evening. He writes me notes. You can't imagine how this resonated with me. Oh so lovely and oh so heartbreaking.
