The Mindful Life Illustrated: A Lesson in Equal Rights from the Earth.

DO NOT REUSE 19 - The Equality of Earth

In the eyes of the earth there are no class systems, no wealth gaps, no religious conflicts or racial divides.

We may fight amongst ourselves, but approach a fresh stream to take a drink and not one of us would find the stream denying us hydration based on how we are categorized by society.

Pick a plot of soil and plant a seed—even if that piece of earth is owned by someone else the seed with still sprout and grow and blossom.

Nature is the home we all share. Everyone is welcome here.

We are all equal in nature. We may construct systems that are used to segregate and divide us from each other, but in the end (and beginning) we are all the same species, born of the same earth, with the same potential for kindness.

There is no position or achievement or status that changes this.

No matter where we stand in society, what our responsibilities are or how much power we have we are never exempt from basic decency.

As the earth provides for anyone who has access so we should provide kindness and support to one another, as equals, no matter where the rules of society may place them on our imaginary ladders of importance.

Non-discriminating kindness is at the heart of our nature, and the nature of life itself.
