I arrived to visit my Mum tonight, as always, she was beaming when she saw me, she opened the door to her room and looked so lovely in a peppermint green top and slacks, she was wearing her emergency button around her neck (this has been an ongoing issue to have her remember to put it on), ‘Yay your awesome’ I say, ‘look your wearing your button’, she laughed and said ‘you told me to wear it didn’t you?’ ‘I sure did’ I said.  

As I sat down I could see a large plastic bag of clothes on the floor and her walker was filled with another plastic bag with lots of things in it, so much so that the seat part was popped right open.  I said ‘What’s up?’ She said, ‘Not much really, so I said ‘What’ in the bags?’.. ‘Oh I have just packed up incase I have to go to the other room’ she says… Hmmm I think ?…… ‘the other room is back’.. as I have written about previously this ‘other’ room is Mum’s room but for some reason she thinks she has two identical rooms with the same number!  ‘Well, let’s see what you have packed’ I say and we opened up the plastic bag of clothes and then the goodies in the walker, ‘Oh that’s where they all are, I have been looking for that stuff all day’..she says with total surprise..and inside is every toiletry item she owns, we have a giggle together … then I say ‘Righty O, so lets unpack hey’. 

Well we unpacked together and put everything away, I didn’t talk about the other room and when we finished I said, ‘Do you want to hear a few stories I have written’? …so I read a few, which I actually have never done with Mum, the last one I read was  ‘The weather and two rooms’.. as I finished Mum said ‘thank you, where do you get the words from for those? I laughed and said ‘My head’.  There was some quiet thinking.. and she said ‘That’s me isn’t it with the rooms?’ I said ‘Yes Luv it is…’ and she said ‘There isn’t another room is there?’ .. ‘Nope there isn’t!‘ I say and she says ‘Thank you for reading to me, and for coming today, will you come again tomorrow?’ ..I said ‘Of course I will’ and she said ‘It’s the best part of my day’!!! ? ❤️
