The Fountain of Youth: an elusive spring that possesses the power to restore the youth of anyone who drinks from or bathes in its waters…

Unfortunately for those of us who’ve long since said goodbye to our 20s, it’s only a myth.

There’s no pill, elixir, or magical water (that we know of) capable of slowing, let alone reversing, the effects of aging that start to creep up on us as we edge closer to 40 and beyond.

Or is there?

According to those on the cutting edge of aging science, we may soon be able to not just slow aging but reverse it. And not just by a few years, but by a decade or more. Yep, one day in the not too distant future, we could be 80 according to our birth certificate, but biologically 30.

You don’t have to wait until the distant future to get the benefits, though.

The pioneering folks at Quicksilver Scientificknown for their breakthrough liposomal nutraceuticalshave launched a revolutionary healthy aging formula based on the exact technology that’s getting aging scientists excited.

The Secret? The 3 Letters that Keep us Alive

No, not DNA. NAD!

“NAD+ is the closest we’ve gotten to a fountain of youth. It’s one of the most important molecules for life to exist, and without it, you’re dead in 30 seconds.” ~ David Sinclair, author of Lifespan: Why we Age & Why we Don’t Have To and co-director of the Center for the Biology of Aging at Harvard Medical School

Let’s back up a little and break down some of the science behind this healthy aging linchpin.

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, or NAD+, is a coenzyme (a compound that certain enzymes need to work) present in every cell of our bodies and critical for turning nutrients into energy.

It supports healthy aging and boosts our lifespan by helping our cells to repair effectively, protecting from stress, supporting neurotransmitters and brain health, activating longevity genes (proteins called sirtuins which we’ll dig into in a moment), and maintaining healthy sleep cycles.

Dr. Christopher Shade, the founder of Quicksilver Scientific, calls NAD+ “the most essential energy currency in the body.

Now, our bodies make their own NAD+ but as we age not only do we make less, but we actually use more of it. This has a profound impact on our cellular health as the years go by. To understand just how much NAD+ can changeand maybe even reversethe aging process, we need to understand exactly what happens to our cells as we age.

The Healthy Aging Science of NAD+

There are two types of foundational information in our bodies that keep us alive and well:

  1. Our DNA. Think of this as our bodies’ digital information, the genetic material that stays the same throughout our life.
  2. Our epigenetic information. Think of this as our bodies’ machinery, mechanisms, and structures within the cell that hold our DNA within certain loops and patterns, telling the cells what to do, what they should be, how they should stay: information that ensures that the cell acts and remains a certain way. As we age our cells start to lose epigenetic information as NAD+ levels lower in the cell.

Healthy cells that are working as normal know what jobs they need to be doing, thanks to our epigenetic information. This is called cell differentiation. It’s basically where your liver cells perform optimally as liver cells should, your lung cells do what lung cells do best and so on.

Now, sirtuins are a key part of our epigenetic information: they’re a class of genes that act as the “CEOs of our cells,” supporting and stabilizing them to read our DNA correctly and act accordingly, thus protecting our bodies from deterioration and disease, and promoting cellular repair.

There are 7 sirtuins, and they all require NAD+ to work. However, since NAD+ declines with age—no matter how much you exercise and how well you eat, by the time you’re 50, your NAD levels are about half what they were when you were 20—the efficacy of these “guardians of the genome” begins to break down over time.

This is what causes most age-related degeneration.

Our DNA never actually gets damaged or lost! It’s the epigenetic information that gets degraded due to this decline in NAD+.

So, despite the popular internet wellness hypotheses, things like antioxidants are not actually effective to support healthy aging.

“Antioxidants have been the biggest disappointment in the aging field. They have with very few exceptions failed to extend the lifespan of any living organism.” ~ Dr. David Sinclair

Enter NAD+ Gold: Change the Way you Age

This new product from Quicksilver Scientific is a potent healthy aging formula containing just two ingredients: nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) and trimethylglycine.

Hang on…NMN? I thought we were talking about NAD+?

The active ingredient here, NMN, is a direct precursor to NAD+, which basically means that our bodies convert NMN directly into NAD+ (which in itself is a relatively new discovery to science, since it was previously thought that we needed NR to convert to NMN, and then NAD+).

What makes this product even more unique is the fact that it’s delivered in Quicksilver’s advanced liposomal technology, making it supremely bioavailable and fast-acting versus other NMN products on the market which tend to either come in powder or pill form and have to navigate the digestive system to get to where they’re going.

The added trimethylglycine also supports methylation, which is to say it supports the action of NMN in the body as well as the liver in metabolizing it—essentially, it’s an NAD+ helper nutrient.

Studies found that supplementing with NMN effectively mitigated age-associated decline (when tested on mice): age-related weight gain was suppressed, energy metabolism was enhanced, physical activity was promoted, insulin sensitivity and plasma lipid profile was improved, age-associated gene expression changes were prevented, mitochondrial function was enhanced, and bone density and immune function were supported. Across. The. Board.

NAD+: a Giant Leap Forward in Healthy Aging Science

Together with other NAD+ boosting lifestyle changes, such as intermittent fasting, HIIT training, and hot/cold therapies, supplementing daily with an advanced product like NAD+ Gold™ can aid cellular repair and restoration, protect against metabolic dysfunction, support cognition and protect the brain, improve mitochondrial function, and enhance our exercise capacity as we age.

“Don’t give me the argument that aging is natural therefore it’s acceptable….It’s only because we all tend to go through this that we think it’s acceptable. What’s natural for primates is to change their environment. We can engineer our way out of just about any problem.” ~ David Sinclair.

Aging included.

Science strongly suggests that NAD+ is the future of healthy aging, but why wait for the future?
