And yet Again

I’m slowly letting you go

I’ve taken too much pain

I’m coming inside from the ruins

I’ve stood too long in the rain

The longer you stay way, the easier it will be

Each day hanging on to what could have been

I lose a piece of me

Your energy is different, I’m not the one you seek

True love would never let days go by, before we could speak

I put too much hope in the man you could be

Instead of who you are

With the snap of a finger, in the blink of an eye

What was once beautiful fell apart

You have no desire to repair it, consumed only in your world

How could a man so willing to help

Hurt such a lovely girl

I’m picking up the pieces you left behind, to rebuild yet again

At this point I’ve been so distraught, can I even call you a friend

Thank you for  the lovely times we shared

It meant more than you’ll ever know

I’m taking back my heart, though I’m falling apart

I’m saddened to see you go
