There you are, checking your email on the toilet again, about to hit the “add to cart” for the 45th time because none of your clothes fit.

Next, you make your third cup of coffee—yet you still crash. As a client of mine said, “I want to go from fat and hiding to confident and out there so that I can grow my business.”

Your business is doing great, but you feel the weight of it on your shoulders everywhere you go. And it is frustrating. Truth be told, you are running on empty, feeling burnt out and overwhelmed. And you think, “If only I could feel like myself again and have both the energy and confidence I used to, I’d be speaking on stages and changing the world.” Because the world needs you, and you know it.

You have a love for your clients and passion for your business. You have built something great and your success speaks for itself. But you know there is more and you want to give more. You feel like you have run into a wall, and something needs to shift, but what could it be?

There are more female-led businesses today than ever before, and as a female business owner myself, I know this is to be celebrated. But that has also led to a rise in hormone imbalance, infertility, and adrenal fatigue in women. We want to use candles for self-care, but instead, we burn them at both ends.

What if the missing piece in your next business quantum leap lies in taking care of yourself? What if it lies in subtle shifts in self-care that lead to massive shifts in your business? Because we know that when we feel our best, we show up differently.

Though it may seem counterintuitive to your ego, you know the way you are hustling doesn’t work, and you want to believe me that you can relax to the top…let’s really dive into why this will make a quantum leap:

Here are my top subtle self-care practices you can implement today include:

Strengthen your circadian rhythm.

Your circadian rhythm is your internal master clock. When we are exposed to artificial blue light all day and into the evening and don’t get enough natural light from the outdoors, it alters our natural shift from cortisol to melatonin, leading to poor sleep and even anxiety. To improve this, try getting outside light first thing in the morning and investing in blue light blockers for the evening.

Setting aside 10 minutes each day just for you.

You can meditate, dance, or go on a walk. The purpose of this is to get into your body and out of your mind, to bring you to the present moment. To create space for whatever you need to process that day or for new downloads and ideas to come through. Practicing stillness can lead to some of the most creative ideas that can drastically change your business and outcomes. The practices will also help regulate blood sugar and cortisol levels, which further helps us feel at home in our bodies.

Eating a nutrient rich breakfast first thing in the morning (ideally no more than 30 minutes after waking) and before your coffee.

It is okay if you don’t feel hungry in the morning. After a few days of doing this, you will start to feel hunger. Morning hunger is an excellent sign of a healthy metabolism. It also further helps improve hormone balance from sex hormones like estrogen, to stress hormones like cortisol. Plus, getting nutrients in before coffee will further help support feelings of calm alertness throughout the day.

Clients who have adopted these subtle shifts experienced more energy, more clarity, and finally started to feel like themselves again. They even shed a few pounds!

When a woman feels grounded, confident, and thriving in her own body, she can do anything. And that is what you are here to do.

Isn’t it time for you to take care of yourself, instead of your clients?

Here’s to no more emails on the toilet!
