Let’s be honest: I could listen to Beyoncé sing anything.
So I was pleasantly surprised (read: ecstatic) when I saw that Beyoncé had recorded a cover of “Moon River,” the Academy Award-winning classic from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”
The song is everything a good love song should be: simple, heartfelt, and full of longing.
But, of course, Queen B kicks it up a notch with her soulful voice and a romantic video featuring her husband, Jay-Z.
My only complaint? I wish it were longer!
The song, and video, are part of their recent collaboration with Tiffany & Co., who publicly committed last year to focusing on sustainability, ethical sourcing, and transparency.
The duo have partnered with the jewelry company for their “About Love” campaign and scholarship program, which, along with BeyGOOD and the Shawn Carter Foundation, was “created for students at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) pursuing creative fields.”
It’s also worth noting that Beyoncé is the first Black woman in history to wear the iconic Tiffany Diamond.
Check out B’s breathtaking cover below (and some YouTube comments). Her version just might make you believe in love, for the first time or all over again:
“Her voice is so rich and full. She doesn’t have to shout for you to get goosebumps. I’m in love.” ~ CKanyin
“It’s unbelievable the way Queen B always surprises us.” ~ Alex
“The best version of Moon River by farrr!!!!” ~ Nate
“Can we get two more minutes?!” ~ Imani
