On May 30th, we are blessed with a new beginning in the sign of Gemini as we welcome the first New Moon following a heavy eclipse season.

We’ve been purging, releasing, and letting go of the old stories that have been holding us back—a necessary first step that will lead us into our new lives.

For me personally, I’ve been letting go of a story many of us carry from childhood—the notion of “children are to be seen and not heard.”

This often leads to a fear of speaking up and being seen in adulthood. This is what I’ve been challenging within myself lately, reminding my inner child that I am worthy of taking up space. I have a right to speak, and my words have value.

Sometimes I feel as though I’m unable to ask for help and support, thinking I need to do it all on my own. This is something I’ve been faced with as my business continues growing, asking me to grow with it.

Before the growth comes the release, acceptance, and possibly some forgiveness—if we’re ready.

I’m ready.

I’m ready to cultivate the courage required to take up space and be unapologetically me. I’m ready to ask for support when I need it; to lean into community. I’m ready to face my fears in the name of growth.

The New Moon in Gemini is opening a new cycle of communication. It’s about communicating how we feel and what we need, all while learning to listen and understand instead of waiting for the window to respond.

Doors are opening and closing quickly. I’ve noticed lately when I think or say something, it usually manifests not long after—reminding me that my thoughts create my experience. It has reminded me I need to be sure my thoughts are of benefit by focusing on what I want to see, instead of what I don’t want.

The Universe doesn’t understand “do” and “don’t.” It just hears the word and delivers more of it.

Gemini is the sign of the twins, the internal dichotomy, the two sides. It is mutable air, which means it is adaptable and always changing and moving, not holding on to one thought for too long. It teaches us to employ the beginner’s mind, to look at people, experiences, and thoughts as if it’s the first time we’ve seen them—and to know there is always more than one side to a story.

What we see on the outside isn’t always true.

Gemini represents the stage in life of early childhood when we are learning to speak. And with that, comes an endless string of questions—most importantly, “Why?”

This is a great opportunity to ask ourselves (and others) just that—”Why?”

Being curious is the best way to learn about ourselves and the world around us, just as we did as children.

Why am I on this path? Is it because it’s what I think I should be doing, based on the opinion of others and society? Is it what I truly want? Am I just continuing on this path because it’s comfortable?

It’s time to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Growth doesn’t come from our comfort zone.

The ruler of this New Moon is Mercury—which is still retrograde—so there may be a lack of clarity on our next steps. Although, we may have found new insight on May 21st when the new Mercury cycle began, as the rays of the sun shone through the messenger, spreading wisdom into our conscious minds.

During this New Moon, Mercury will sit at the point opposite where the Lunar Eclipse took place on May 15th, meaning we’re being guided to look forward with caution toward our destiny. It’s time to leave the past behind and forge a new path, taking only what we need.

There is a new beginning about to take place, so if you’re feeling stuck, it may not be for long. We’re still in an incubation period. It’s best to take time to reflect before making any sudden forward movement.

Gemini is an air sign that rules the lungs, arms, and hands. Some medicine during this time is writing, speaking, and expressing what’s in our hearts. Breathwork is also a wonderful gateway to this information and our inner world. Be aware of the urge to disconnect emotionally and choose to lean in and get curious instead.

We’ve let go of the baggage (at least we’ve begun to), and now we are invited to ask ourselves if the path we are on is still in alignment with the bigger picture.

The good news is that there are options. We get to choose what is in our best interest.

The New Moon isn’t making many connections, but its ruler (Mercury) is. Mercury will be in conflict with Saturn, which may bring roadblocks—possibly a repeat of the roadblock we had been faced with for the past month. This is an opportunity to check in with our priorities again and readjust, if necessary.

Is my goal still in alignment with my priorities and values? Am I able to ask for help with the mess that I am in, or is it a sinking ship?

It may feel complicated now, but with perseverance (or the wisdom to let it go if need be) the rewards will follow.

There is deep healing and transformation happening under the surface. This is the point where we take back our power without needing to manipulate. Mercury is in a nice conversation with Pluto, which is offering determination and focus on the goal. Pluto is also retrograde, so we’re still reflecting on our own inner transformation, and continuing to let go of the circumstances we can’t control.

Gone are the days of clinging on until the last breath—if it’s meant to go, let it go. When we let go, it creates space for the next opportunity to move in.

Lastly, Mercury is supported by Neptune during this New Moon. Ask for the signs and keep an eye out. There is a deep knowing that we’re protected on this wild journey. Although Gemini is highly logical, our intuition is strong, so following our hearts will benefit us.

Mercury is the messenger of the Gods, so allowing space for the messages to reach us is necessary. Spending time in the present moment—whether in meditation, quiet walks, breathwork, or writing—will allow the messages to reach us more easily. Neptune is the planet of universal love, which brings an opportunity to hold deep compassion for ourselves and others, even if our opinions differ, as we navigate these new waters.
