Prisha Singh is a sophomore Honors Biology major at UW–Madison, originally from New Delhi. Living with Type 1 Diabetes since the age of seven, she has turned her experience into advocacy, supporting children newly diagnosed with the condition and raising awareness through her graphic novel, The Adventures of Captain Glucose. At UW–Madison, she is actively involved in research on Alzheimer’s disease and diabetes, and she hopes to pursue a career in medicine while staying engaged in pre-medical organizations and student leadership.At the heart of Prisha’s life is her unbreakable bond with her mother, Ekta, who remains her greatest source of strength and inspiration. Outside of academics and research, Prisha loves books that carry her into new worlds, as well as swimming, basketball, and practicing Indian classical dance.
