Pelosi introduces Bill

The House of Representatives introduced their “Affordable Health Care for America Act” today on the west lawn of the Capitol in Washington D.C., and I was there to cover it for the New Hampshire Union Leader. People from all over the country shared their negative experiences with healthcare. Hopefully things will change for the best. Here are some photos from the event!

Oct. 28, 2009-I know Rep. Shea-Porter’s listening, but I’m really curious what Hoyer is whispering in Pelosi’s ear.

With states able to opt out of the public option, it sets up a dangerous situation, possible migration to states that they can get health care, putting those states in afurther financial bind.
It's a terrible bill because the government will be giving insurance to those in the worst shape, making the new system to be in the future, a great burden financially. We need Universal coverage so we can balance the costs of the very ill vs. those who need less health care.

My understanding is that it costs far more not to insure unhealthy types—not doing simple preventative procedures, just waiting until it's life-threatening and we have to help is far more expensive. Not to mention, unkind.

Shea-Porter is a goner in 2010 for betraying her constituents.
