  1. […] This post was mentioned on Twitter by Claudia Azula, Red Fox. Red Fox said: Top 10 Yoga Blogs of the Week ~ Jan. 8 http://bit.ly/hnHFxL […]

  2. Honored to be here Bob, just re-twitted, what a great idea to compile all the great thoughts on yoga that happen during the week :-)

I like this idea, Bob, but I have a suggestion to offer up. As someone who subscribes to Elephant via RSS feed, I read most all the yoga articles already and these weekly sum-ups are somewhat repetitive. I think it would be really neat if you perhaps included a few of your favorite yoga-related posts from around the blogosphere as well, as I know you do a lot of reading and can tell you have great taste in articles! I love what you're doing as the new Yoga Editor, and I look forward to reading future posts. :)

Thanks for your response, Bob. Yes, I'm afraid I really do read just about all of them… though if the quality of the writing is too poor, I often just skim or stop reading. My honest opinion is that Elephant offers some of the greatest and uh… not-the-greatest… writing in yoga in the blogosphere. I love that Elephant provides a forum where I can get exposure to such a diversity of opinions, but I must admit sometimes I wish the writers would take the time to have an outside reader scan their post for run-on sentences and typos. I'm not one to judge though. As long as I can follow the flow of ideas, I'm a happy camper. Like you, I think, I have an insatiable hunger for the wisdom and knowledge hidden in the teachings of these ancient traditions. I read because it feeds my soul.

I'll give your suggestion to write a sum-up post myself some thought, though I don't know that I have the credentials to be ranking the best yoga writing of the year. :) I write a monthly column for a relatively new yoga-oriented blog (www.yogamodern.com) that keeps me pretty busy, but if the inspiration strikes I'll give it a whirl.
