{Boulder Event} Sell Your Wares and Find Hidden Treasures at This Year’s Hill Flea. ~ Sara Bruskin

A short stroll away from the farmer’s market, there are discoveries to be made.

Have you ever pulled a trinket out of an old box, and thought, “I was planning on turning this into something awesome, but it never happened. What a shame…”

I know I hold onto far too many could-be projects, some of which don’t particularly interest me anymore. Rather than leaving them around to make me feel guilty and lazy, it helps when I give them new homes with freshly enthusiastic owners, and pick up some new crafty possibilities for myself. Refreshing your “To Hot Glue” list can help renew your passion for DIY projects.

A perfect place to swap some creative inspiration is at the famous flea market on the hill.

Yes, the Hill Flea is coming back around this year. If you missed it last summer, there will be two unique chances this May and August to browse the best garage sale spreads in Boulder, along with lots of handmade crafts.

The first Hill Flea of the year will kick off on Saturday, May 7 with some free yoga (I’m already sold). Local food vendors will be feeding hungry treasure-hunters, and some great bands will be performing.

It’s a great opportunity to learn some nifty DIY tricks, and support local artists. For two years now, the Hill Flea has encouraged the Boulder community to give their belongings new homes in a flea market setting. The Hill Flea website has more information for people who want to take part in this brilliant day of sharing:

Celebrating the principles of sustainability, vendors and visitors alike will be invited to reuse, renew, recycle and rediscover their goods, services, and skills

If you would like to be a vendor at the Hill Flea, the kind coordinators of this event are offering an elephant journal discount. Email me for more information at sdbruskin[at]gmail[dot]com

So come find a vintage bracelet or a bunch of awesome buttons (I love buttons), learn to knit, and entertain the kids all day long.
