Colorado is gearing up for the first winter yoga festival, Yoga Rocks the Butte, in Crested Butte February 10-12, 2012. This slopeside, family-friendly yoga and music festival will be headlined by Shiva Rea, Govindas, Dave Stringer, Steve Gold and a long list of California and Colorado master-teachers. Class sign-up just opened on December 20th so make your selections before Shiva’s classes are filled!
For those that haven’t yet purchased tickets, the festival producers have announced a holiday special: One ticket for only $350, with the option to purchase a second ticket at only $175…two tickets for $525. Just use the purchase code holiday for the first ticket and you will receive an email for the second ticket extended discount.
Yoga Rocks has also announced a contest for a free ticket for elephantjournal.com readers: send an email to [email protected] with elephant in the subject line to enter.
With a strong selection of flowing yoga teachers, heart-felt music, family-vibes and the power of the Rocky Mountains in the mix, this will be quite a unique and intimate festival experience. Recently added to the list of teachers is Sara Ivanhoe of YogaWorks and extreme skiing champion Kent Krietler. Rainbow Michael and Shakti Sunfire will be teaching fire spinning and hula hooping, and tantric-scholar Christopher Tompkins will be giving workshops on Kashmir Shaivism. All-inclusive packages for the whole family are also available.
