The month of March is about transition. It is about change. Allow your inner spring to blossom and embrace the gift of being you.
Maybe you have been a recluse, or have been working harder than usual, or not exercising as much as you had planned. Maybe you have taken a break from things you love, have been hampered by injuries or just got out of a relationship. All of these reasons are great reasons why we all need to break free from hibernation, let go and rejuvinate our souls.
It often seems that the dark days of winter are followed by some personal darkness. We use winter as an excuse as to why we didn’t get to yoga class, or why we were too lazy to get our work done. Luckily those winter days will soon be gone and we will transition into the season of motivation, change and happiness.
The first step to change is letting go. Rid your body and spirit of negative energy and allow spring’s warmth to cradle you.
“Such boundless pleasure
We’ve no time for later
Now you can’t await
your own arrival”
~ Frou Frou
After letting go, get off the couch and dance to this song.
“But every morning when I wake up
I tell myself
don’t be fooled by your emptiness
there is always room for happiness.”
“I live in the spring time with no in between time.” ~ Lemon Drops
Start your day rollin’ on the right foot with a little funk by our friend James Brown. This is one of my favorite songs to jump out of bed to, sing into my hair brush and start my day off with a smile. The way we wake up can have an effect on the rest of our day, so get funky baby.
“I feel good like I knew that I wouldn’t, soo good.” ~ James Brown
And who doesn’t love a good ol’ Grateful Dead song?
“Sunshine, daydream, walking in the tall trees, going where the wind goes
Blooming like a red rose, breathing more freely,
Ride our singin, I’ll walk you in the morning sunshine
Sunshine, daydream. sunshine, daydream. walking in the sunshine.”
You are the seasons of your life and life is about change. Embrace your seasons.
“Warm in a sunshine watching love in bloom.” ~ India.Arie
Just remember that good times are coming, the sun will be shinning and to get up and dance every once in a while.
