Winter lurches slowly, agonizingly, towards an end; we anxiously await the first blooms of spring.
Are you looking to make a big transition in life? Hoping to shake off some dust and cobwebs? Maybe ruffle a few tail feathers in the process?
Transitions are not easy, but they truly are transcendent.
Take a bit of inspiration from these folks:
“Never too old, never too bad, never too late, never too sick to start from scratch once again.”
“The future is called ‘perhaps,’ which is the only possible thing to call the future. And the important thing is not to allow that to scare you.”
“Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can’t ride you unless your back is bent.”
“To say goodbye is to die a little.”
“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.”
“Lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at you.”
“In youth, it was a way I had, To do my best to please. And change, with every passing lad, To suit his theories. But now I know the things I know And do the things I do, And if you do not like me so, To hell, my love, with you.”
“March on. Do not tarry. To go forward is to move toward perfection. March on, and fear not the thorns, or the sharp stones on life’s path.”
“The best thing you can do is the right thing; the next best thing you can do is the wrong thing; the worst thing you can do is nothing.”
“You have to decide what your highest priorities are and have the courage—pleasantly, smilingly, non-apologetically—to say ‘no’ to other things. And the way to do that is by having a bigger ‘yes’ burning inside.”
“20 years from now you will be disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”
“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”
