There’s nothing I love more than an art party. Why? Perhaps ’cause I’m frequently accused of 1) being an unofficial mayor of Boulder or 2) having ADHD. Either way, I love having a half-dozen fun light meaningful conversations a minute, whether it’s at the Farmer’s Market or what. But there’s something about art parties that raises the bar, bringing culture and a higher purpose to those otherwise shallow-water conversations. I’ve known Erica, one of the organizers of the below, a little bit for a long time, and for those of you lucky enough to be in Boulder, Colorado in June, here’s something to add to your calendar. I’ll see you there. ~ WL, ed.

An Art Happening

June 12th – June 19th Celebrate Art and Music at this fundraising event to benefit Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFFA)

1904 (East) Pearl St. in the old COOP Grocery space

Boulder, Colorado

OPENING: Friday, June 12th at 6PM at 1904 Pearl Street, the space that once was the Boulder Coop grocery. Live music, performances, and visual art by local artists and musicians.  A suggested donation of $5 will be accepted at the door and will benefit Emergency Family Assistance Association, a 90 year old organization providing direct financial assistance, food and shelter to local families, seniors and people with disabilities who are facing homelessness.

The working title of this show is “A Week Amid June.” Support area artists and this vital non-profit agency at the same time by attending this worthwhile event. The Opening Night Kick-Off includes a great line-up of musicians and performers from the Boulder-Denver area. An assortment of paintings, drawings, photography and sculpture will be available for purchase.

The entire show runs Friday, June 12th through Friday, June 19th and will be open Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 5PM and weekdays 12pm to 5pm.  On June 19th we will host a closing night celebration.   We will have cards and flyers to come.
