President Obama has been roundly criticized…

…at least by “talking heads” and Sarah Palin, for sitting around in meetings and walking around beaches instead of banging on tables and shouting into megaphones. But…well, I wouldn’t want to be on the other end of this hard, bright, hot stare.

“I don’t sit around just talking to experts because this is a college seminar. We talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answer so I know whose ass to kick.”

It is so sad that he is so incompetent. Seemed fun when the only task was creating an image that Americans, those lovable but gullible people, would buy but now that the rubber meets the road it is sad. I cannot imagine it is fun being put in his position, once the party is over and the real world comes a callin.'

Just curious, Greg, but what should Obama be doing exactly? If this were McCain/Palin in charge would this have played out differently?

Obama's mistake was expressing support for off-shore drilling during the campaign, but at least his fundamental premise–that we need to get off our dependence on oil–is still accurate and an evolutionary step ahead of his detractors.

It seems that even industry and technology experts are clueless on how to stop this spill. And yes, I've heard that we "need to hold BP accountable," but I don't know if anyone knows how to do this or if there is a solution that would satisfy anyone after such a disaster.

Agreed! Surprisingly, I've heard some support from some Fox "News" commentators like Bill O'Reilly supporting Obama's purported "inaction." Of course, then they typically use this event to edify Bush's inaction following Katrina as if it is a valid analogy.
