A Grad Student Outbids Oil Execs for Leases of Public Lands, Delaying Drilling.

Going to Jail for Climate Change Civil Disobedience? No problem. An inspiring speech in the tradition of Gandhi, Thoreau, of MLK Jr. and the Dalai Lama: for Climate Change is a cause that effects all of us, it’s as big an issue as they come, it’s about our children and animals and the future of civilization, it’s about corporate greed and individual resolve.

But, as Mr. DeChristopher says, this cause isn’t about violence.

True. His state of mind should not matter.

If he wants to believe fantasies about climate change cooked up by corrupt politicians, like Al Gore, who are invested heavily in carbon exchanges, which they hope to use to bilk the public of literally hundreds of billions of dollars, why not? Go for it. Do the crime, serve the time. Hope the sentencing is particularly harsh and gives him time to study up on Al Gore and how such massive cons are run. (He can start with Enron.)

I kinda hope Elephant readers who support this guy go out this weekend and burn their cars and their houses and their computers and thus cease using energy and products they do not create themselves. And I hope they start protesting against Obama for underwriting Brazilian deep-water drilling at depths no one has previously tried. No point in being silent about it. (No one likes a hypocrite who shuts down American production with regulations while financing foreign production with tax dollars.)

Of course, if they torch all the personal goods they enjoy made possible by energy use, they will be out of touch and will not be able to watch people go hungry because we are burning our food supplies for fuel as a result of Al Gore running a little global-warming scam.

Pretty amazing to watch a whole generation act out a drama programmed and managed by propagandists. The puppet masters are laughing at how easy it has been.

DeChristopher would probably enjoy the mail he will get in jail… but those who support him should not send any, as it takes energy to fuel the mail trucks to deliver to his prison.

Oops. Where is Gore's hockey stick graph? Are we cooling?
