Jyotish {Vedic} Horoscopes for the Week of 9.2.

“The little space within the heart is as great as the vast universe. The heavens and the earth are there, and the sun and the moon and the stars. Fire and lightning and winds are there, and all that now is and all that is not.”

~ The Upanishads

Moon transits through Cancer, Leo, Virgo and into Libra this week.

Moon is in its own sign of Cancer on 9.2 and 9.3 but will be with debilitated Mars there. Expect fatigue, exasperation and emotions running hot; get extra rest.

Mars in Cancer should be considered a rest cycle, treat it accordingly until early October.

Next week will bring a bit of relief to emotions and efforts as Moon breaks up the placement of Kala Sarpa Yoga (all planets placed between Rahu and Ketu) that has been going on for weeks. For now, take small steps, don’t push too hard, strive to achieve “less is more.”

New Moon on 9.5 in Leo at 6:37 CDT. Moon will be in Purvaphalguni Nakshatra.

The focus is on relationships, the feminine (including divine feminine), creativity, passion and all things related to Venus. There is vulnerability with this new moon so be careful with the aforementioned indications as well as with travel and cars/driving at this time.

This is an exciting and intense week for the planets. Saturn and Rahu are working their way to conjunction in the upcoming weeks and we are already feeling the pressure of these two powerful planets getting closer in degrees. [For more awareness about this transit, visit my previous articles about Saturn and Rahu in Libra.]

We also have two planets changing signs on 9.5, the same day as the New Moon. Venus moves to its own sign of Libra (joining Saturn and Rahu there) and Mercury moves to its sign of exaltation, Virgo, as well. Both are in deep sandhi (in the gap between signs) at the time of the New Moon and are thus vulnerable. This week in general is a time of caution- especially from 9.4 to 9.7 when both Venus and Mercury are weak.

Unlike some of the other prevalent predictions circulating, I don’t see the coming weeks with rose-colored glasses.

Yes, Mercury and Venus moving to new houses improves things on several levels. For one, Mercury and Sun will no longer be hemmed in by debilitated Mars and Venus. Secondly, both Mercury and Venus move to houses that will be vast improvements from the last. So yes, there is a trend of improvement. Some will even experience worldly advancements with the heightened influences of Rahu happening, but for the most part, vulnerability still abounds– especially in regard to all things Venus.

Debilitated Mars will still be aspecting Rahu and Saturn, but will impact Venus now directly. There will be drishti from the benefic Jupiter on these three planets in Libra (and thankfully Jupiter has moved into Punarvasu nakshatra now, ruled by Jupiter and the deity Aditi, the “Mother of all Goodness”), but for the most part, Rahu is giving us a taste of his insatiable appetite for the worldly.

Due to the nakshatras, Rahu, Venus and Mars are highly activated. Temper the cravings, heat and storms, as well as issues with “other” and relationships, through meditation, creative pursuits, seva and deep introspection. Don’t fall off the wagon too hard.

*This photo was shared by K.H in response to last week’s Creative Engagement Exercise offered in my horoscope post.

She wrote: “…As I eased my way into it, I felt my body become light and move solely from heart center, as if every movement that came forth contained a string attached back to the heart. Strings. So many strings. Reaching out, reaching back in. Expansion. Contraction. Always finding a dynamic balance. If my drawing could speak, it would tell me…Let your Heart Beat with the Universe.”

Creative Engagement Activity for the week of 9.2 :

As we bring in the New Moon this week, our energy is restarting anew as well. During the dark half, our energy and focus wanes, and as the Moon begins to brighten, so does our energy and outer focus. This week we will work with the Pelvis, the creative energy center, and in body metaphor practices, the place where we connect with fertility, reproduction, our creative potential, and activation of life.

The pelvic bones connect us to our spine and upper and lower body and they house the reproductive organs. Venus is also associated to the pelvis.

Start with a gentle pulse. Stand feet hip width a part, bend the knees and find a bounce. Do this until you can drop everything else and you find the release and relaxation. Take this into a pelvis dance. Swing your tail, undulate your hips, lift our legs, rock back and forth. Find movements that feel supportive, soft, grounding, opposites. Notice how the pelvis connects the lower and the upper halves of the body and is a crucial link for movement of each. Take at least 30 minutes for this dance.

Come to your drawing pad and draw a large circle. Inside your circle create a New Moon Mandala. When you are finished, complete this sentence: “For this New Moon cycle, I am creating.”

*Horoscopes are based on your Vedic rising sign. You can also check your Moon and Sun signs for further insight. Do the same with your Navamsa signs for further clarity. Do not use these horoscopes with your “Western Sign” as there is likely no correlation. These horoscopes are meant to be used as a broad overview of the current transits and obviously do not address the specifics of an individual’s unique chart.

Aries: Continue to look for resources and be solution-oriented. You are your own worst enemy, so seek alliances and teams that bring support and nurturing and be alert to what is doing the opposite- not serving you. Focus on children, education, wealth building activities, relationships, creativity and courage. Watch the anger button and start to catch the heat before you boil.

Taurus: It takes great courage to heal and be healed. Use this time for growth on the inner level. Home space is a metaphor for the temple, as body is the temple to the soul. Make home and heart a sanctuary in order to thrive. Create a healing oasis physically and metaphorically. Use this time to be nurtured and to nurture. Find the Seva here.

Gemini: Creative and passionate exaltation is rising in you like a golden sun. This week begins a good round for you, but I challenge you to find balance amidst all the creative storms. Diving deep within is your golden ticket to sanity and will bring the ultimate rewards. The inner will help you find the outer offerings. Be alert. I wonder if you’ll be able to sit still long enough to meditate or if you’ll be too busy hob-nobbing at the cocktail party? Make time for both.

Cancer: It is a time of working on the balance of inner and outer, quiet manifestation and clear, focused action, the outer experience of life vs. the inner, quieter realms. Courage to speak these hidden gems and share them with others is mounting. Perhaps sharing more of your spirit, your soul, with the outer world, can help you create more balance on the inner? Are you willing to take the risks necessary to find out?

Leo: Unlike the other signs, you are in a dynamic place and can’t help your self for making strides. Remember though that outer depends on inner, so external actions need to be in harmony with the inner guidance system. Creativity comes into focus and financial comforts take an upswing these coming weeks. These will likely be connected to friends and acquaintances, so make hay while the sun shines and get off the metaphoric couch.

Virgo: Some mental ease is settling in, but minding your gut is essential. Especially watch for constipation. It will take courage for you to shine in the coming weeks—part of you is feeling very alone and isolated. Don’t push too hard. Your soul is in a rest cycle, but you can still shine internally. Comfort may feel fleeting and volatile. Use positive affirmations to will away the negative self-talk. Affirm the good and find resources.

Libra: Friends and gains bring more support over the next few weeks. Listen to good advice from others and gain from acquiring new skills and resources. You become a whirlwind of creativity and connections over the next few weeks, so “make it work” as Tim Gunn would say. Just remember that team work requires someone to step up and “be the bigger one” sometimes.

Scorpio: Right now is a time of drawing back the arrow. It may feel as though your efforts are going into a bottomless pit and will never resurface. Continue to methodically build the empire. It’s not quite time to let your arrows go, but keep holding the target in your mind. This week, slow and steady will help you win the race.

Sagittarius: All you want is time for your self, but instead you are being forced to deal with others. Here it is, an opportunity disguised as another annoyance, a distraction, a worldly projection. There are gains to be had right now on the outer level so don’t neglect conscious action. Learn from everything. Use everything as a metaphor, a mirror to the Self.

Capricorn: Your response to relationships, the “other,” continue to bring emotional disturbances and discomfort despite your efforts. Don’t worry, it’s about to all make a lot more sense in the coming weeks. Use this time to spread your wings and catch a breeze. Use what you’ve been learning to take some emotional risks. Your soul is going through deep transformation. The rest of you will catch up shortly.

Aquarius: With four planets aspecting your first house, you may be feeling like the universe is giving you mixed messages. Others are seeing you as a shining light, a beacon, which is very attractive. Find “best practice” in your teaching and advisory roles, your relationships and with knowledge and wisdom from gurus and teachers. The coming weeks will be an excellent time for deep thoughts, make time for them with presence.

Pisces: Some things will begin to make more sense now. Relationship transformations heighten in the coming weeks as your awareness heightens. Expect a lot of talking to happen—make it “high level” conversation. Your wisdom is coming from your gut, so don’t neglect digestion, and gut reactions. Teach and advise, heal and be healed. Seva is key.
