“Psychologists have scientifically proven that one of the greatest contributing factors to overall happiness in your life is how much gratitude you show.”

~ Soul Pancake

Hypothesis: Expressing gratitude has a direct effect on a person’s happiness.

Participant: You.

1. Write a letter to the person who has been influential in your life discussing why they are so important to you or how they have affected you.

2. Read letter (smiles, smirks, laughter, tears, tenseness of throat, all acceptable and probable responses.)

3. Call the above mentioned person.

4. Read them the letter you wrote in step 1.

Results: Results may vary.

Discussion: How do you feel now? Better? Worse? Embarrassed? Relieved?

Conclusion: Express your gratitude more often. Give thanks.

Thank you for reminding us of the power of GRATITUDE. I have been writing Gratitude Journals for the last ten years. The process has allowed me to learn that the more I look for abundance, beauty , love and small miracles, the more I see and the more these gifts seem to come my way . I have also learned that even when there is pain, grief, disappointment, I can still be grateful for the immense learning that comes with difficult times. This evening I arrived by train to Warsaw to see an old art teacher who moved here from Canada eight years ago. He is on my list of top ten people who have positively influenced my life….so tomorrow when we meet I will EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE. thanks again KC and Elephant Journal. Margarita xxo

Margarita, thank you for your reply, I found so much truth and inspiration in it! I have thought many times about starting a gratitude journal, and see so much benefit in it. I love that you are having the chance to share your gratitude with such an important person in your life, I'm sure both of your days will become so much brighter. So now, I express my gratitude to you. Thank YOU for all your positivity and inspiration you bring to this universe.
