Because of Jivamukti Yoga’s focus on a non-dualistic view of life (the interconnectedness of all), the practice awakens in the practitioner not only the need to protect the environment and all the animals and plants that share the planet with us, but provides the practitioner with skills to confidently achieve those goals for oneself as well as teach others how to live in harmony with the planet.

There are two Jivamukti Yoga 300-Hour Teacher Training month-long residential programs in 2017:

The first is in India from February 4 to March 3, 2017 at Govardhan Eco Village (GEV).

Founded by HH Radhanath Swami, a Vaishnava sanyassin (a monk in a Krishna-bhakti lineage) and teacher of the devotional path of Bhakti-yoga, GEV illustrates “Simple Living & High Thinking”—a principle that is succinct, yet profound, and formed the basis of life in the bygone age of wisdom. Life in the vedic times was focused on service, and not on exploitation; this was the cardinal rule of living and the very essence of people’s dealings—with each other and Mother Nature.

Govardhan Eco Village is situated on 50 acres of pristine farmland in the Wada district of Maharashtra. Although its rustic charm and sylvan ambiance belie the fact, it is only a two-and-a-half hour drive north of Mumbai. The addition of the Lady Northcote Hindu Orphanage in 2002 brought the total number of residents in the community to 100.

The 2017 Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training faculty is incomparable. In India, the training is facilitated by world-renowned, advanced teachers Yogeswari and Jules Febre, as well as by co-founder, Sharon Gannon. In addition, students will be mentored by advanced certified Jivamukti teachers, Moritz Ulrich, Tomo Okabe, and Doug Whittaker. Moritz Ulrich will also teach advanced anatomy. Sanskrit study will be led by Sanskrit scholar Manorama.

The second month-long Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training is held June 4 to July 1, 2017 at Blue Spirit, one of the foremost world-class yoga and meditation retreat centers in Costa Rica.

Located in Nosara, the Blue Spirit yoga and meditation retreat center, perched on a hilltop overlooking the Pacific Ocean and a three-mile white sand beach that is protected as a turtle refuge, provides an extraordinary setting to all who are dedicated to spiritual transformation, personal growth, and environmental sustainability.

The pristine nature, subtropical climate, dedicated staff, and the healing energy of the Nosara community create the ideal environment for training, leading to an unforgettable and deeply nurturing experience.

Blue Spirit offers yoga retreats, yoga teacher training, meditation retreats, winter learning vacation weeks with Omega Institute, and other transformational programs. The gourmet vegetarian cuisine, holistic spa and longevity services, salt-water infinity pool, excursions, and the graceful and comfortable accommodations cater to all tastes and budgets.
