This Mercury Retrograde comes in Turbulent Times, but there is Something we can All Do.

Whether astrology is science or magic, we’re open to most things, if they may be of benefit. ~ Ed.

Mercury turned retrograde on Saturday, August 12, 2017, through to Tuesday, September 5, 2017.

This retrograde is particularly ominous because the inflammatory qualities of Mars (which, of course, rules war) are already evident. They started right after the lunar eclipse on August 8, when President Trump made his brash threat to the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, that any hostile acts “will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen.”

The Korean leader responded harshly, saying that he was considering firing missiles at Guam.

To add to this warlike atmosphere, we will have the solar eclipse on August 21, which will conjunct Mars in the fire sign of Leo. To make matters worse, this eclipse falls simultaneously on Donald Trump’s natal ascendant and in Mars, which could turn his angry threats into a reality.

Another possibility is that Trump may become extremely upset in response to news that comes out of the special counsel, Robert Mueller’s Russia/Trump campaign investigation, and act impulsively against him.

We may be set for a real cosmic drama—I just hope and pray that it doesn’t unfold this way.

In the face of global events like this, we may feel helpless, but we can affect change, through our own lives, in small ways, in these turbulent times.

We can all act with care and practice awareness, which is generally good advice, but especially so over the next three weeks. We can be mindful in our day-to-day lives. Be compassionate, with ourselves and one another. Be cautious around angry people and situations that may arouse our own anger.

This retrograde is a time to slow down, think before we act, and be diplomatic in challenging encounters with others. Expect to experience delays, miscommunication, and problems with equipment, telephones, computers, and cars. Take precautions around these areas. It might also be best to hold off on signing contracts or making any major commitments.

Be patient and pay special attention to the way we communicate with others. We can take the time to think before we blurt out whatever we have to say on Facebook and Twitter. We can communicate mindfully.

We can use these three weeks to let up a little and re-evaluate our decisions and actions before we take them. There may be something that comes to light after Mercury goes direct on September 3 that could help clarify where we stand, and help us move forward, together, in a more mindful, compassionate way.

Good luck, my friends!
