A Poem for those who are Still Healing.

Healing Bloom

I took my trauma
I buried
it in the garden of my heart.
my healing is like planting seeds
and when flowers take root
they then bloom
and tell the stories of
the heartache buried in the dirt.
the stories echo
through the hallways of my arms
and my legs,
they reverberate through my rib cage.
I can feel the stories seeping from my skin.
I don’t resist it.

I just sink
and I surrender
and I feel like
maybe I’d like to hear a flower tell a story
about a piece of me that I’d forgotten.
It’s funny,
in its absence
I thought someone stole it
but here it is, right here
buried in the soil of my soul
come back to me
like petals falling up.
