How a wise Business should be run. Here’s the final scene from Executive Suite, starring William Holden.

“The quick and easy is a loss of faith in the future.” “And we shall never again ask a man to do anything that will poison his pride in himself or his work.”

Note: the scene continues—and there’s an important moment between the two adversaries of peace and respect. The movie’s worth the watch, if you’re a business-type.

“You can’t make men work for money alone, you starve their souls when you try it.”

This is ethical leadership. Shopping local craft instead of Made in China, tax evasion and cheap labor without environmental regulations or quality or longterm vision. Triple bottom line, even. This is what the Small Giants are all about (see my interview here).
