Drinking Saltwater

We come back together
Routinely
In waves

Just when I think you’re gone
You roll back around

Gently at first
And then all at once

We build like the tide
And then come crashing together once again
With the kind of thirst you only get
When you’ve been drinking saltwater

That’s what life is like without you
And I know it’s what yours is without me

Oh, my love
I’m terribly afraid
We are all too like the sea
