Once you get the chance to get away, from home, from family, from what you know, and see what’s out there-the inmensity, the colors, the people- something shifts inside you.
You expand, and you don’t shrink back.
It’s almost addictive and it’s overwhelming and truly extraordinary; the fact that we haven’t seen it all, and we probably won’t…but that’s the beauty of it, isn’t it?
The mystery in the greatness, that is what makes it precious; the very existence of unseen corners, unexplored beaches, undiscovered creatures, unknown people, bottomless trenches and never-ending fields.
It really is enough to make you feel microscopic.
And so it’s as if the brain unlocks a new part of itself, and the soul has been fed a big meal. Now it has grown- it is ready for different things. It is hungry and wants to know more, see more, experience more. It no longer has time for meaningless matters, now that it has seen what it can have, it doesn’t settle for less…and it shouldn’t.
