4 Ways We Can Get a Great Start To The Day.

Getting a great start to the day can transform our lives.

In fact:

It was found that those who start the day earlier are more likely to be healthier than those who don’t.

For those of us who are considering a lifestyle change…

Read on as we explore 4 ways to do so.

Let’s get started.

1. Evening Routine

 Setting an evening routine can really benefit the way we start the next day.

One of the main goals of doing so is to get into bed at a consistent time every night.

This will ensure we get enough hours of sleep, setting us up nicely for the morning to come.

For some of us, a main part of our evenings is the late night meal or snack.

Just a friendly reminder to stay clear from sugar and caffeinated beverages as they may keep you up for longer.

And a helpful tip:

If you’d like to improve your mood and enhance your sleep, focus on eating foods that contain tryptophan.

2. Make Your Bedroom More Comfortable

Making some simple changes to our bedrooms can give our bodies the rest they need after a long tiring day.

And the more rest our bodies get, the more ready we’ll be for the day to come.

One way to make your room more comfortable is to upgrade your mattress.

Memory foam mattresses can alleviate pain throughout your body as the foam will gently conform to your shape as you rest on it, enhancing your rest and recovery.

And compared to other mattresses they are quite price competitive.

Controlling the lighting and temperature in our bedrooms can also make them more comfortable.

A few simple ways we can do so include:

  • Sleep with an eye mask
  • Invest in cotton or bamboo bedsheets
  • Use an air conditioner or fan

Doing so can also help you fall asleep faster.

3. Start Your Day Early

Consider waking up earlier, stretching your body out and going for a nice walk or jog.

There are a variety of stretches that can be done within the comfort of the home which include:

  • Runner’s stretch
  • Chest stretch in door
  • Standing calf

You could also consider low-impact activities such as yoga or swimming.

This can really assist with opening our hearts and minds, giving us a great and clear start to the day.

You can quite simply walk around the block or go for a jog at the local park.

There may also be local fitness groups to join that have morning programs you could attend with family, friends or colleagues.

If the weather is not the best and you don’t feel like leaving the house, there is always the option to exercise indoors.

Some people have put together exercise routines which can be done indoors, that include a range of exercises:

  • Skipping
  • Star jumps
  • Burpees
  • Sit ups
  • Push ups

Some of these exercises may not be suitable for everyone, so pick the ones which suit your ability the best.

4. Cold Shower and a Healthy Meal

After you’ve had your nice stretch and finished exercising, it’s recommended to have a cold shower.

And there are so many benefits of doing so.

After a nice cold shower, if you’re feeling hungry, have a healthy meal.

Whether it’s avocado smash or an acai bowl, paired with a tea or coffee.

It’s best to enjoy your meal at a nice pace.

This is one of many reasons as to why sleeping early is important.

So we don’t find ourselves rushing about as soon as we wake up. Which will leave us with no time to do anything for ourselves.

If work starts at 9 a.m. and you’ve woken up late.

Your entire morning may just be a big rush to get to work on time.

As a result:

You start your day delayed and behind, which is not good.

It’s also not good for your mental health.

It doesn’t help to stress yourself out in the morning.

You can mentally and physically exhaust yourself with all the rushing which is not healthy.

Getting yourself anxious, upset or angry is just not a healthy way to start the day.

Having an evening routine, sleeping on time, ensuring you get enough sleep and rest on a comfortable mattress, paired with controlling the lighting and temperature of your bedroom, will have you waking up feeling much better.

And if you’re consistently waking up feeling better, how you are throughout the day will also improve.
