“Make You Feel My Love” is hands-down one of my favorite love songs.
It was written and recorded by Bob Dylan in 1997, but the simple melody and powerful lyrics always make me feel like it comes from an earlier, more romantic, era.
“When the rain is blowing in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I could offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love
When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one there to dry your tears
Oh, I hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love
I know you haven’t made your mind up yet
But I will never do you wrong
I’ve known it from the moment that we met
No doubt in my mind where you belong”
My favorite version of this song is from Adele’s 2008 album “19.” But today I heard Kelly Clarkson and Ben Platt do their original arrangement of the song, and it left me remembering why this song is so timeless.
Check out their take on it below, and keep scrolling for more versions (including Adele, Billy Joel, Lea Michele, and Garth Brooks).
