Have you experienced a moment in time that was life changing?

Something that changed the course of your life.

It was 2001. I had a busy life of being a working mother of two daughters—12 and 8.

I was married and enjoyed the comforts of a large home and the ability to travel often.

Then, within a week, it all changed.

I got laid off from my job, filed for divorce, took my daughters and moved in with my sister, and had no money. It was like being thrown into an icy lake and being forced to wake up.

I affectionately call it the “Great Transition” of 2001.

I felt that all the masks I’d been living behind that I thought were so vital (career, marriage, lifestyle, status) were stripped away to the bare bones.

It forced me to ask myself, who am I? I no longer knew myself, and I realized I had spent so many years just surviving.

I was being given a challenge from the Universe. It is time to reclaim my true essence and live the life I’m worthy of.

Was I brave enough to claim this challenge? Did I have the courage and strength to move forward, not only for me, but for my daughters?

Fast forward to 2020—another year of great change.

However, it is one of great personal growth and spiritual expansion. I’ve been able to reflect on how far I’ve come since my life “reset” in 2001.

I have learned the value of thriving.

Here are the gifts I’ve been given since 2001:

1. Spirituality.

I was raised in a faith-based home and went to a private high school. However, during the Great Transition of 2001, I was introduced to Reiki.

A friend told me that I needed to get centered and I responded, “You think!”

The Reiki session opened doors to a whole new world. Since then, that friend became my Reiki Master. I have obtained my Reiki Master, Integrated Energy Therapy Master, Life Force Energy Master, Level III Medical Intuitive, Certificate in Ayurveda Medicine, and Certification in the Jack Canfield Success Principles Train the Trainer.

I have claimed my gifts as a healer and mentor, and I have discovered a deeper and truer heart-centered connection with Source.

2. Self-Love.

The greatest gift of all.

I have embraced all that I am. I no longer hide behind the masks that others expect me to live by—such as social expectations.

I have deep gratitude for my corporate career and my energy/sound healing and success mentoring practices.

I am worthy of investing in my gifts and in me! I live each day with gratitude, love, and nonjudgement. I honor all my curves. I live each day celebrating the gifts of healing, meditation, and living in the moment.

I would not have been able to move through the last two years of surviving thyroid/parathyroid cancer and two total knee replacements with grace and ease, without all that I have learned over the years.

Most of all, I am blessed with the love and support of family and friends.

3. Inspiration.

We all have a light within us that is meant to shine and that we are meant to share with the world.

To live each day in a positive and loving mindset. To experience joy and harmony in all that we do. To claim and live our life’s purpose with passion.

I am inspired to help others along their path of remembering how to dream of all that is possible without limitations, to remove the barriers blocking us from living life to the fullest, and to claim the life of our dreams.

Each experience, whether we view it as negative or positive, is our greatest teacher, our greatest lesson.

The key is this: Are we living in the present moment to recognize those lessons.

When we do, our life’s purpose and path are blessed in unbelievable ways allowing us to take a confident and heart-centered step forward to owning all that we deserve. And then, we’ll thrive each and every day.

So, I challenge you to take time to reflect and journal on the following questions:

What is true about you today that would make your 12-year-old self cry?

What brings you joy and fulfillment?

How do you want to be remembered?

Do what I call a “gap analysis.”

Where are you today and where do you want to be in say, five years? What actions do you need to take today to start closing that gap?

If you need assistance in identifying those actions, or if you are having trouble answering any or all of the above questions above, I would be honored to join you on your journey.

It is your time to claim all that you are meant to be.

Live life inspired by awakening your soul.

~
