We Are One: Each of Us with Beautiful Wounds. {Poem}

Never forget: you are not alone.

I write with passion and self-love at the forefront. I will forever grow and express the path I have taken through creative elements. My work is meant to lift and inspire. My goal is to resonate and validate within you.

I write with blood as my ink. My pen is like a knife that only cuts words. My tears are salty, drenching each poem I write into puddles. I hang them to dry and listen to my lines as they become songs in the wind.

We Are One

Just so you know, my fingernails scratch louder than that.
They screech like knives without chalk.
Empty pockets scream for change.
I always want to change.

Just so you know, I have battle scars.
I am a warrior with badges so heavy they pick me up.
A dim glow from metal stars.
I shimmer in the light.

Just so you know, sometimes I scream inside.
Each new day, I shed the hate I was born with.
I am growing and blooming with grace.
I will never stop.

Just so you know, I am not who you think I am.
I am mysterious and enchanted.
I make potion with my spit.
I am pure magic.

Just so you know, you are the most beautiful.
Your love wraps around me like a blanket.
Keeping me warm and close.
I never want to leave.

Just so you know, we are one.
My light is shining inside you.
Your love is filling my core.
You are me, I am you.

Just so you know, we are all the same.
Each of us with beautiful wounds.
Filled with blood and tears.
We are one but many.

May we always remember our self-worth and to love ourselves. The journey to self-discovery and finding life’s deeper purpose is painfully beautiful.

Embrace it. Allow yourself to be messy and forgive yourself each time you fall. You are exactly where you should be.

“The meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain and so obvious and so simple. And yet, everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves.” ~ Alan Watts
