Insensitivity & Indifference: How to Avoid the Traps of the Age of Aquarius.

Congratulations, we’ve made it through 2020.

We faced a global pandemic and the socioeconomic turmoil that goes along with it—it has been a wild ride. And along with it were several important planetary retrograde cycles: we experienced the Grand Conjunction, the alignment of Saturn and Jupiter in the sign of Aquarius. This alignment is said to be the start of the “Age of Aquarius.”

Saturn, the “Lord of Karma,” the father of the Gods, planet of the lessons that must be mastered aligned with Jupiter, the planet of expansion and magnification, in an air sign—Aquarius, the sign of the global collective, ruler of technology and innovation.

An alignment that hasn’t happened in some 800 years. This is significant. Why? Because every time Saturn and Jupiter have aligned, big changes have happened: FDR and the New Deal, Martin Luther King Jr. and the “I Have a Dream” speech, Roe v. Wade—just to name a few.

But, what does this all mean? For us? Here and now.

We are in the midst of a collective change, a profound transformation. We are in the midst of a shift in the paradigm. While some say we are entering the Age of Aquarius, others say we’ve been in it for quite some time. But that isn’t as important as what’s next.

We’ve been experiencing a great transformation for a few years; 2020 just upped the ante—in a big way. Corruption has been exposed in many areas of our societal structures. We are seeing, some for the first time, the massive scale of inequality and injustice that has been pervasive. Systems we have relied upon are crumbling, and there is a restructuring that is taking place.

This is a good thing; uncomfortable, yes. But ultimately, this is a time of great hope for the future. We are now in the driver’s seat because we are perceiving the world around us as it is.

When we can see clearly, we are empowered to create change.

Aquarius is a sign corresponding to the air element. Air energy moves quickly. Think of a tornado; it can arise at a moment’s notice and be gone in a flash or last for however long it does. This is the great power of air; it is fast-paced. It can bring in great change, or it can create chaos. The key lies in our collective harnessing its energy and aligning it with its highest expression.

Aquarius is the great humanitarian; it is the sign of the collective: collective mind, collective consciousness. It rules over technology and ushers in new technologies, new ways of thinking, doing, and being.

But it can also be a cold energy: distant, lacking empathy, and inhibiting of that one-on-one human connection (social distancing anyone?).

How do we keep ourselves from falling into this trap? Individually and as a human family. We can do this by keeping three things in mind:

1. Staying strongly rooted in our hearts.

2. Staying ground in the present moment.

3. Tapping into our internal guidance, our innate intuition, wisdom, and discernment.

By engaging in a simple, meditative practice, we can accomplish all three.

From a seated or reclined position, close your eyes, bringing your awareness to the breath. The breath is life. Feel yourself become rooted in the ground beneath you, connecting to the crystalline core of Mother Gaia. Bring your awareness to her abundant and nourishing energy.

Allow yourself to receive healing—white light—that rises from her core and into your physical body. As your entire body and energetic field are bathed in brilliant, healing white light, bring your awareness to your heart, envisioning a ball of emerald green and pink light.

Feel this dissolve away any grief, feelings of loss, unworthiness, anxiety, fear, and doubt. Envision this energy expanding, radiating all around you, fully encompassing you in a divine loving energy.

When you feel complete, open your eyes.

You can also choose to connect with your inner guidance in the same way; just bring your attention to the point between your eyebrows (third eye center) after feeling fully encompassed in the divine love. See your inner vision clearly and expand that powerful energy, arriving at completion when you feel ready.

As we shift into this new Earth paradigm, understand that this is not a destination. It’s not a “reaching the mountain top” moment. This is a journey, both for us as individuals and for us as a collective humanity.

It is up to each one of us to embody our sovereignty and to consciously co-create a life that is more holistic and integrative; a reality that is less ego-centered and more a collaborative effort between the self and the community.

As we ground in the present moment, reach toward the stars of infinite possibilities!
