3 Ways to Snap Out of a Mental Funk

I wrote an article about this in 2017, addressing a simple and highly-effective way of managing the constant mental and emotional funks that I still go through on an almost daily basis. 

Funks can be blah moods, feelings of unworthiness, self-sabotaging thoughts, lack of motivation, feeling not good enough, feelings of failure, lost-in-life, in-your-negative-feels, etc etc etc. 

I think you get the point!

Really, any state/mood where you’re just off your game, and you’re not thinking or feeling like you really want to. 

The process is simple and has two main points: 

1) pay more attention to what’s going on inside you, and 2) do something about it more often. 

Don’t let a bad moment turn into a bad day, week, month, or life. 

Don’t stuff it down or pretend like it’s not there when it is. 

You owe it to yourself to not let anything else in your life fester, or be abandoned. 

Maybe now is the time to grow through it?

The funks we experience are messages from soul and God to us:

Slow down. Take a break. Refocus. Recenter. Restart. Release. Cut them off. You deserve better. Throw it all out the window and go have fun. Enjoy life. You deserve joy and pleasure. Follow your bliss. Believe in yourself more damn it. Listen to your heart. Pay attention to how you feel right now. Listen to your body. Is this really what you want? 

The list goes on. The only one who can translate your messages is you. 

Tune in. 

Show yourself more love when you’re feeling low:

1) Notice when you’re in a mental/emotional funk.

2) Change the channel on life ASAP. 

3) Notice the patterns, and work on upgrading them daily. 

Compassion + patience + forgiveness 

You deserve it all, and get to give it to yourself with unconditional love. 

Keep going. You’re exactly where you need to be✨
