Grey Stones

Photo by Ir Solyanaya on Pexels.

It’s a journey isn’t it, this life school

Its hard AND beautiful

It wears away the edges

Like rounded grey stones worn by the ocean’s waves

Those sharp corners that developed unknowingly to protect

That once kept the world at bay

But no longer serve their purpose

Thank you thank you to those waves

Those waves of grief, sadness and sorrow

Those waves of joy, laughter and connection

They wear down the stone of my heart

Softening, rounding, holding, they help me to return to joy
