Green Modeling Competition: the New Face of Eco-Fashion!
Project Green Search’s “model mission” says it all:
Take a stand, get noticed, align your modeling endeavors with your personal beliefs, be an advocate for the environment, animal welfare, fair trade and human rights. Be the poster girl for what is ok to sell… and what is not.
Here’s how the competition unfolds: Models register online, then the public is encouraged to vote online. Ten finalists travel to Portland, Oregon for interviews, a photo shoot, and a runway show during the high profile and very green Portland Fashion Week (Oct. 7 – 11).
The star is chosen by a panel of industry judges (with help from the audience), including Planet Green’s Darren Moore, green designer Deborah Lindquist, Eco-Chick founder Steve Vartan, model Josie Maran, green model/spokesperson Summer Rayne Oakes, and Omniquest Media’s Michael Kaliski. The spoils? A contract with Option Model Management, a full-fledged photo shoot, introductions through LOHAS and plenty of new green gear. The Green It Girl will also enjoy ample exposure as the face of Project Green Search for one year, with features, spreads and cover shots in the likes of Coco Eco, Organic Spa and other earth-conscious pubs.
Qualifications: Ages 17 and up, no previous modeling experience required and availability for Portland Fashion Week. For more info, visit the Project Green Search Website or check out their Facebook page. May the best eco-model win.
