Freedom of Choice? ~ Kendra Mulgrew

Warning: naught language ahead!

Humans are weird.

We claim to be the highest on the food chain and the peak of evolution, but that’s far from the truth.

We don’t know a single thing about what it takes to maintain a balance with the Earth. We don’t know how to keep our ecosystems alive so that we can live in harmony with our surroundings.

We’ve created unnatural selection in an attempt to answer questions that didn’t need to be asked in the first place. We have lost faith in knowing the magic of the truth and somewhere along the way we lost the trail of where we came from. Will we ever find our way back?

Why do they make it so hard for us to thrive when all they want is for us to simply be alive? They want us to get the job done in order for them to be able to grow, while we whither in defeat. We make money our top priority because we don’t have a choice. They’ve made us think that we need it to live and at this point, we do.

It’s like a drug that we have become dependent and reliant on, but it’s just a concept. A long time ago someone simply just made it up. Sure, it makes the exchange of goods and services easier, but it’s flawed. Banking was created out of greed, yet we trust them to have our best intentions at heart.

I don’t claim to believe in the monetary system, but just like you, I think about how I will stay alive in the future. Will I need money? Probably.

I don’t want to live my life based on monetary gain. I want to live my life so that I can thrive and do what I love. Some say it’s just part of life, but how many other creatures are out there, living and thriving without the constraints of what money brings.

They make us think that our wellbeing relies on it. What we don’t realize is that we have so many other resources at our disposal.

We could live in peace and harmony, but they make it so hard.

They say we need money to own a piece of land, but how can they claim that we are not free to roam. Isn’t it our Earthly right, just as it is for the other creatures we share this place with?

Ignorance is not bliss. We may be happy in our drugged out haze, but at the end of the day we know we’re not only slowly committing suicide, but killing everything around us as well. What makes us think we’re more worthy than other beings?

It’s not blissful to ignore the fact that bees are dying. Once they’re gone so are we. What are we living for anyway? Does going to work day after day make us happy? We say we hate our jobs, yet we go shopping as a reward for the hard work we put in.

Did we ever stop to think that the less we spend the less we would have to work? Could we focus our energy on what really matters; our passions, nourishment, nature, and love?

Why do we sit back and settle for the life we have been given?

We have a choice every day. We pretend that they’ve already made the choice for us because we’re scared of change. We’re scared of anything different than we’ve been taught and what we already know. What do we even know? They tell us things, but are they true? They have no reason to be truthful to us.

For them, it’s easy to lie.

They only benefit more as they gain more power and sway. We don’t have to sit back and play victim to those who say they know. No. We all have god within us. We have the devil within us as well. Which card are we going to play? Do we want to live in love or in fear? Listen up, we have a choice, are you going to obey?
