Update—Although the toddler’s family believed that their daughter was still alive, the mother now admits that the doctor who found the toddler’s pulse at the funeral was a “quack.” The official news from ABS-CBN officially confirms that the little girl’s mother was misled to believe that she was still alive.

In some cases, before rigormortis has set in, the body can still twitch. This is due to stored energy in the muscle cells. It is a reflex action.

A three year old Philippine Girl, mistaken for dead, is found alive in her coffin.

On Saturday July 12, 2014, a young Philippine girl was pronounced clinically dead. She had been suffering from a high fever for many days and was taken to the hospital Friday.

“During that time, the attending clinic personnel and physician confirmed that the young patient had no more pulse and was clinically dead last Saturday morning about 9 a.m.”

During her funeral in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines, a friend of the family removed the coffin lid to reposition the body. Surprisingly, the toddler moved her head. This was amazing timing and saved the girl from being buried alive.

“This prompted them to check and confirmed the girl had pulse and was alive.”

The identity of the three year old girl and her family are being held confidential, for their protection.

The funeral ended promptly, the girl was taken home and attended to by nurses. The family is consulting with medical personnel in a well equipped, local hospital.

This is a case of mistaken death. It was very nearly a premature burial. The true miracle is that a neighbor found the little girl alive in time.
