“Whether it’s science or magic, if it’s of fun benefit, enjoy!” ~ ed

We have been soul stretched wide-open already this year of 2025.

The year of the snake continues to work its magic, medicine, and mystery on us. Deeper we go into the chasms of soul ache, ego collapse, and self-purification of all the poison and toxins of the world, our cultures, the systems, and our familial lineages’ pain we’ve swallowed whole. As we journey deep within the self, we purge the weight of the unassimilated pain and trauma, alchemizing it and returning back to our original soul blueprint and divine truth.

A true alchemist knows the journey they must take into the shadows, into the very cave and space that they fear to enter, meeting the darkness they’ve unconsciously taken on in attempts to catabolize the trauma and pain they survived, and weave it all the way back to consciousness and love.

Many of us have survived painful pasts of trauma, neglect, a lack of belonging, and little to no emotional attunement and safety. As we continue to undergo energetic, emotional, psychic, and egoic surgery while waking up, we must continue to find the moments of ease and grace. The spaces we feel truly held in and safe to unwind. We are sinking deeper into this energy now as we make our way through Taurus season, the sun continuing its movement in the fixed earth sign, reminding us that safety and security begin within.

And yet, we can use our senses to connect to the living world outside of us—the plants, the trees, the waters, the winged beings—to reconnect us back to a felt sense of safety and belonging. Taurus energy reminds us that we are a part of the earth. And the earth is deeply connected to the energy of the Divine Mother and feminine. We are here to remember and restore these parts of order and equilibrium again in the world. Taurus energy is slower moving, here to remind us there is deep growth and blossoming happening even more so sometimes when we slow down.

Taurus energy connects us to the material plane, to our money and resources. What is our current state of affairs and energetic relationship like to these things? Is it supportive, spacious, and fluid? How can we shift the scarcity mindset so many of us carry from generations before us into a sense of abundance and plentitude? Taurus reminds us that our bodies are a vessel of atunement we can use to calm our senses and overactive nervous systems. Deep breaths, a therapeutic massage, a hug, a yummy, nourishing meal, the smell of a flower, the soft graze on our skin of the breeze caressing us, the sound of the ocean waves landing on the shoreline in rhythm and pace. As we attune our bodies again to the natural world, we remember and restore our senses back to safety and peace.

Taurus energy also connects us to our values and what we value, as well as our self-worth and self-value. Where are we still hiding our innate worth and power in the shadows of shame? How long have we believed the narrative that parts of self are unworthy and unlovable? We must continue to bravely face this painful wound and uproot it.

And sometimes, the waves of emotions pull us under, demand we attend to them and dive deep into the waters within, into the mystery of the felt experience of life, to honor the pain and grief we are here to feel and be with. This is the energy of Scorpio, Taurus’ counterpart. Scorpio energy invites us into the depths of our emotional landscape. Initiation by fire and water. Scorpio energy is intense, sharp in its edges and fiercely devoted to emotional alchemy and snake-like transformation.

“Face your fears and be free,” Scorpio says. That fear is a gateway back to our power. Often how much fear we carry lends itself to how much power we are meant to hold and wield in this lifetime. How deeply can we meet our fears in each moment to embody more of our soul-centered power? Scorpio asks. Often fear is naturally more present as we move closer to the truth.

This is the energy of the upcoming full moon in Scorpio, landing on May 12 at 12:56 p.m. EST and at 22 degrees of the fixed water sign. Scorpio energy is deep, transformative, cathartic, psychically attuned, sensitive, empathic, and here to remind us that through journeying to our emotional waters and depths, we can return with more of our innate power intact. Scorpio energy is co-ruled by Mars and Pluto. Mars brings the fire and the drive, the masculine warrior energy to get us moving. Pluto brings the depth and the soul, the shadows, the death/rebirth energy, and the soul transformation. Both energies work in synergy and synastry to help us dive deeper into the masculine wounds and distorted, disempowered masculine energy many of us have carried, either feeling disconnected from our own inner masculine power, or handing our power over to the masculine outside of us to validate our own existence. Scorpio energy reminds us how to come back into sacred relationship with our masculine power and to use this energy as soul containment for our own emotional processing.

Scorpio energy is the death and rebirth, the deepest transformation of self. Unraveling deeper into the truth by revealing what’s hidden or unseen. From the lower less evolved but necessary aspect of Scorpio, the scorpion, to the higher vantage points of Scorpio as the eagle, through the death and rebirth, we emerge as the phoenix rising from the ashes of self-transformation. Scorpio energy doesn’t want surface level anything. Go deep or go home. Yet, many of us are still learning how to feel safe in the depths of our own emotions, let alone holding that space for another. Taurus reminds us that we need to feel safe first. So we can dive deep into the emotional waters of self. Scorpio energy can also bring up all the ways in which we still struggle to have boundaries between self and other. Where do we still over-give and over accommodate others’ energy while abandoning our own sense of safety?

Self-abandonment is a core pattern for many of us empathic souls. We can feel the pain of others so deeply and want to help ease the pain in another, so we abandon our own comfort and safety to rescue them. Being so deeply enmeshed in another’s energy is also a way we self-abandon, losing ourselves in another’s projections and needs. We learn how to meet other’s needs while abandoning our own. This is shadow Scorpio. Losing all sense of self and autonomy. But we absolutely need separation and to exist in our own energy. How to have healthy boundaries between self and other? And to let boundaries be as changeable and flexible as they need to be, not concrete walls of isolation, heart walls of emotional avoidance, control and fear patterns trying to keep at bay the intimacy we so desperately crave and need. This is the highest level of self-differentiation, how to hold space for another (Scorpio) while energetically embodying and staying rooted in our bodies and selves (Taurus).

This full moon will be conjunct to asteroid Juno, also in Scorpio, which highlights our relationships and how deeply we can trust another. We are pushed to evaluate the authenticity of our relationships. And to cultivate bonds rooted in mutual reciprocity, vulnerability, and respect. We need radical and emotional honesty to cultivate true intimacy with self and other. Scorpio energy in its higher, evolved sense is intimacy of energy in a way that truly feels safe, honoring, and boundary-filled. Scorpio energy can be highly distrustful of others. But true trust comes from within. When we feel a sense of distrust and fear around giving our power, energy, or control to another, it is perhaps an invitation to deepen our own self-trust.

Scorpio energy tracks the origin of our dormant, hidden, and unclaimed power. Perhaps repressed in the shadows, we can begin to resurrect the golden shadow template. A term coined by the late psychologist, Carl Jung, this aspect of self refers to the hidden brilliance and untapped potential and creativity as the “golden” side of the unconscious, repressed, or disowned more shadowy parts of self. Many of us have learned to repress and disown the more misunderstood and unconscious aspects of ourselves only to find ourselves seeking out unhealthy addictions to cope with these shadow forces in our lives. We give more power to what we repress in the shadow of the unconsciousness. And it is through bringing those hidden aspects of self back into the light of consciousness that we reclaim our power and turn those shadows into gold. Scorpio is a golden shadow worker. A regenerative energy initiating us deeper into the shadows to find the gold by going into the emotional intensity. Sometimes the shards of samskaras feel stuck and fixed, like a shadow Taurus digging its heels in out of fear of change and the unknown, despite the growing state of suffering and inner emotional rebellion building to transform.

More often than not, the shadow represents a portal back to our unclaimed divine power. And often it is in the shadow that our most tender wounds and pains remain. Shadow work is not for the faint of heart or spirit, but Scorpio energy is a portal directly into that work. These aspects of self can include our sexuality (repressed by religious indoctrination and societal control mechanisms to keep us disconnected from our power) of which Scorpio is intimately tied to the healthy expression of, our connection to our bodies (preyed on by the patriarchal lens of disconnection from the feminine), our pleasure, even our anger and grief, shame, insecurities and self-doubt. For they are all portals back to the light through the alchemical process of turning shadow into gold, integrating these previously demonized aspects of self back into wholeness. Shadow is rarely bad, just hidden, unconscious energy.

Alongside this full moon in Scorpio, we have Dark Moon Lilith, the aspect of the dark (hidden, not bad) feminine, the shadow, primal and wild feminine energy, also in Scorpio. This is activating the concealed aspects of the emotional body, usually the hidden rage and anger. The fears we carry. The parts of self that must die so we can be reborn anew. This energy was active during the recent Taurus new moon, on April 27, that worked tightly with a square to Mars and Pluto to activate our inner wounded masculine and feminine parts and disempowered sense of self so we can reintegrate these energies back into our consciousness. We are all feeling a little rage-full, grief-filled, and tender with these energies. A potent time but not an easy time to meet the shadow within self.

We have been working deeply with Mars and Pluto in three significant oppositions over the last year, with the final one on April 26. Mars is now finally out of the soupy, swampy waters of Cancer, and in the sign of Leo, where it starts to gain some fire and drive back. But opposite to Pluto in Aquarius, a tension builds between the individual and the need to belong. How do we deeply honor our uniqueness while being a part of the greater whole? Our triggers are going to be amplified here too, as well as our wounds. Power struggles may surface here on the global scale and between self and other. This aspect is potent for highlighting our traumas but also a huge potential for transformation if funneled and directed in a conscious manner. Facing the internal shadows continues to be the lesson and the theme. The sun in Taurus also squared Pluto on April 23 demanding deep, soulful self-transformation.

This full moon will be a continuation of that story. Making a trine to the south node in Virgo, we are asked to shed outdated, toxic habits. To let go of control mechanisms and perfectionism. To shed the karmic weight of unhealthy patterns in our intimate relationships as well as our relationship to the body and self. The moon will be opposite to Uranus, the revolutionary and freedom thinker, activating and illuminating the ways in which we still feel emotionally imprisoned and stifled. How to create more emotional and energetic freedom in our lives? How to break free from the limiting beliefs that suppress our expression of freedom?

With the sun in Taurus conjunct Uranus, we are able to see now that we truly do hold the key to our own freedom. We just have to have the courage to take the leap beyond what is known, expected, or normal, and be brave enough to get out of the ruts we might have succumbed to. Dare to be the outlier in a sea of conformers. With all this electricity in the air, have faith that even the most stale, fixed, immovable, and cement-like karmic patterns and loops can swiftly change. Be open to change happening quickly. Often change can bring up fear, so rewriting this story as building excitement rather than impending terror can help alchemize the energy. We are being pushed through yet another birth canal of growth, with all the labor pains and contractions reminding us that change is often excruciatingly uncomfortable but so too is staying locked in to deadened patterns of decay.

Mercury, now in Taurus and slowing down our communication and mental energy from a more grounded and practical standpoint, will be making a square also to Pluto, encouraging transformative communication but also perhaps some challenges around communication with others. An opportunity though to transform the ways in which we communicate to self and other.

Taurus sun energy here reminds us to ground deeper into the body and utilize body-based practices to help clear the emotional body and move through any challenges. Venus, Taurus’ ruler, moves into Aries now to give us the courage to claim our newfound sense of worth and value and either those around us rise up to meet us there, or we continue our own self-made path forward to align with those who do. Especially out of her long retrograde journey, we are more ready than ever to align with our innate self-worth and self-value. And, as we continue to do the trauma clearing of shame and self-rejection, we remember who it is we really are and how worthy our hearts are of being fully met.

Later this month as we enter curious, lively, perhaps more sociable (or not) Gemini season, Saturn will be moving into Aries but only for a few months before it stations retrograde back into Pisces in September until February 2026. Saturn will move back into Aries until 2028. Saturn in Aries turns up the heat on our responsibilities. Aries energy gives us drive and passion to create a new adventure and step out into a whole new sense of self, but Saturn demands we give it structure and create a foundation that will support this newfound sense of self for the long haul. A time to take bold action and responsible risk that will lead to new foundations of self that will support us moving forward.

We are all feeling the fire and intensity building lately. A call to action. To be bold in the face of our fears and shadows. To dive deep into the pain and shadow. Pluto stationing retrograde on May 30 aids in this power reclamation journey. We continue this death/rebirth energy for much of 2025. We are being forged like a diamond in the alchemy of change and soul growth. Our power is restructuring itself around our true divine power. The leaders of the new world are rising: the healers, mystics, oracles, alchemists and way-showers. As the golden shadow in self is reclaimed, the collective grid and Gaia rise in celebration of activated ascension codes. We are the healers of the ages. The cycle breakers. The change makers. The fire breathers. The golden thread weavers.

Allow this full moon to spin shadow into golden thread. Petrify coal into golden nuggets. Use and channel the Scorpio intensity and fuel it into your soul alchemy. Let this full moon bring the intensity it needs to get you free and liberated from unnecessary emotional pain and torment. Allow the emotions to move all the way through your body as the vessel for alchemy and healing. Tend to the body. Be with the waters within and around you. Alchemy is you. You are alchemy in motion. Slow down enough to be with it. Sink deeper into it. Shedding the skins too constricting of your life force. Become. Like. The. Snake. Primal. Shedding. Skins. Kundalini. Rising. Awakened. To. Your. Power. Wild. Regeneration. Feminine. Masculine. Sacred. Union. The. Rebirth. And. Resurrection. Of. Shadow. Back. Into. Light. As. The. Golden. Shadow. Rises. And so it is. And shall be. Aho. Amen.
